Protective Filtration Clothing combined with MP-5 or MP-6 gasmask is designed to protect soldiers from airborne chemical, biological and nuclear contamination in the form of gases, sprays, particles and vapours. Clothing replaces standard issue field uniforms and can be worn directly over skin or undergarments. Elements of clothing are layered, the external layer consisting of fire retardant uniform fabric with water and oil resistant properties, while the internal layer is made form filtration material. Gloves are made from butylene rubber. Filtration clothing is manufactured in six sizes, while protective gloves and boots are available in three sizes. Protection within the contaminated zone is at least 24hours with up to 30 days of exposure. Clothing can be washed up to six times without reduction in protective qualities.
